Growing an international brand from startup to cleanup

The Ocean Cleanup develops technology to rid the oceans of plastic. It means cleaning the plastic that is already there and prevent plastics from entering our seas in the first place. We need to close the tap. The Ocean Cleanup knows from research that 80% of the plastic ends up in the sea via 1000 rivers. Until now there have only been small and local initiatives to combat this. Up from 2016, GRRR is The Ocean Cleanup’s digital design and tech partner. Providing a broad range of services from webdesign to signage.

Our latest milestone was to provide all digital communication tools necessary to ensure a smooth launch of The Ocean Cleanup’s latest innovation: The Interceptor™. It is the first scalable solution to prevent plastic from rivers from entering the oceans. The system works 100% on solar energy, is able to clean up plastic autonomously and can be placed in most of the world’s most polluting rivers. One Interceptor can clean up 50,000 kg of waste per day and operate autonomously for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are working with The Ocean Cleanup since 2016. And this time again our team brought the new chapter online, helping The Ocean Cleanup team to tell the Interceptor story in the best possible way.
